    Diva presents a look at women in the present day. The inspiration for this thesis project comes from rhythmic gymnastics, a unique sport exclusively for women. The movement of the ribbon, twining and surrounding a woman’s body, highlights the beauty of the woman. The twining movement symbolizes the complex and developing roles women are playing in contemporary society. The structures of the pieces in this thesis project are open and vast, creating a sense of allure, as well as a reflection of the open mind of the contemporary woman. The pieces are separated into two parts, black and white, symbolizing different characteristics of women. Black and white are classic and basic colors, but opposites. Neon pink, a modern pop color associated with women, relates to femininity and links the black and white together, symbolizing different kinds of women in the modern world

    Multiple depth maps integration for 3D reconstruction using geodesic graph cuts

    Depth images, in particular depth maps estimated from stereo vision, may have a substantial amount of outliers and result in inaccurate 3D modelling and reconstruction. To address this challenging issue, in this paper, a graph-cut based multiple depth maps integration approach is proposed to obtain smooth and watertight surfaces. First, confidence maps for the depth images are estimated to suppress noise, based on which reliable patches covering the object surface are determined. These patches are then exploited to estimate the path weight for 3D geodesic distance computation, where an adaptive regional term is introduced to deal with the “shorter-cuts” problem caused by the effect of the minimal surface bias. Finally, the adaptive regional term and the boundary term constructed using patches are combined in the graph-cut framework for more accurate and smoother 3D modelling. We demonstrate the superior performance of our algorithm on the well-known Middlebury multi-view database and additionally on real-world multiple depth images captured by Kinect. The experimental results have shown that our method is able to preserve the object protrusions and details while maintaining surface smoothness

    Proteomics and SSH Analyses of ALA-Promoted Fruit Coloration and Evidence for the Involvement of a MADS-Box Gene, MdMADS1

    Skin color is a key quality attribute of fruits and how to improve fruit coloration has long been a major concern. 5-Aminolevulinic acid (ALA), a natural plant growth regulator, can significantly increase anthocyanin accumulation in fruit skin and therefore effectively improve coloration of many fruits, including apple. However, the molecular mechanism how ALA stimulates anthocyanin accumulation in fruit skin remains unknown. Here, we investigated the impact of ALA on apple skin at the protein and mRNA levels. A total of 85 differentially expressed proteins in apple skins between ALA and water treatment (control) were identified by complementary gel-based and gel-freeseparation techniques. Most of these differentially expressed proteins were up-regulated by ALA. Function analysis suggested that 87.06% of the ALA-responsive proteins were associated with fruit ripening. To further screen ALA-responsive regulators, we constructed a subtracted cDNA library (tester: ALA treatment; driver: control) and obtained 104 differentially expressed unigenes, of which 38 unigenes were indicators for the fruit ripening-related gene. The differentially changed proteins and transcripts did not correspond well at an individual level, but showed similar regulated direction in function at the pathway level. Among the identified fruit ripening-related genes, the expression of MdMADS1, a developmental transcription regulator of fruit ripening, was positively correlated with expression of anthocyanin biosynthetic genes (MdCHS, MdDFR, MdLDOX and MdUFGT) in apple skin under ALA treatment. Moreover, overexpression of MdMADS1 enhanced anthocyanin content in transformed apple calli, which was further enhanced by ALA. The anthocyanin content in MdMADS1-silenced calli was less than that in the control with ALA treatment, but higher than that without ALA treatment. These results indicated that MdMADS1 is involved in ALA-induced anthocyanin accumulation. In addition, anthocyanin-related verification in apple calli suggested that the regulation of MdMADS1 on anthocyanin biosynthesis was partially independent of fruit ripening process. Taken together, our findings provide insight into the mechanism how ALA regulates anthocyanin accumulation and add new information on transcriptase regulators of fruit coloration

    To stop the COVID-19 epidemic from spreading among their populations, several countries have implemented lockdowns. Students are being forced to stay at home during these lockdowns, which is causing them to use mobile phones, social media, and other digital technologies more frequently than ever. Their poor utilization of these digital tools may be detrimental to their emotional and mental health. In this study, we implement an Artificial Intelligence (AI) approach named Hierarchy-based K-Means Clustering (HKMC) algorithm to group individuals with comparable Twitter consumption habits to detect addictive Twitter activity during the epidemic. The effectiveness of the suggested HKMC is evaluated in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and f1-score in respect to the association between students’ mental health and mobile phone dependency. Additionally, this study offers a comparative examination of both the suggested and existing procedures

    Dynamic Non-Rigid Objects Reconstruction with a Single RGB-D Sensor

    This paper deals with the 3D reconstruction problem for dynamic non-rigid objects with a single RGB-D sensor. It is a challenging task as we consider the almost inevitable accumulation error issue in some previous sequential fusion methods and also the possible failure of surface tracking in a long sequence. Therefore, we propose a global non-rigid registration framework and tackle the drifting problem via an explicit loop closure. Our novel scheme starts with a fusion step to get multiple partial scans from the input sequence, followed by a pairwise non-rigid registration and loop detection step to obtain correspondences between neighboring partial pieces and those pieces that form a loop. Then, we perform a global registration procedure to align all those pieces together into a consistent canonical space as guided by those matches that we have established. Finally, our proposed model-update step helps fixing potential misalignments that still exist after the global registration. Both geometric and appearance constraints are enforced during our alignment; therefore, we are able to get the recovered model with accurate geometry as well as high fidelity color maps for the mesh. Experiments on both synthetic and various real datasets have demonstrated the capability of our approach to reconstruct complete and watertight deformable objects

    A Net Loan Monitoring Platform for University Students Based on Visual Micro-blog

    In order to prevent college students from tragic events, which mostly result from falling into illegal net loan, a net loan risk monitoring platform of college students was established based on the microblog visualization. Based on the calculation model of risk degree (CMRD) and the calculation model of relational closeness (CMRC), a visual system, a user relationship analysis system and an early warning system were constructed on the platform. Through the CMRD, the risk degree of micro-blog net loan contents can be worked out to decide whether warning behaviors are necessary. Through the CMRC, the closeness of net loan bloggers with users can be obtained a propagation map. The key nodes can be cut off by internet security officers in time, which can prevent further propagation of the contents of the microblog net loan. The platform can effectively alleviate the tense situation of college students and illegal online loans

    The impact of influenza on the health related quality of life in China: an EQ-5D survey.

    BACKGROUND: Influenza causes considerable morbidity and mortality in China, but its impact on the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) has not been previously measured. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective telephone survey to assess the impact of influenza on the HRQoL among outpatients and inpatients using the EuroQoL EQ-5D-3 L instrument. Participants were individuals with laboratory-confirmed influenza infection registered by the National Influenza-like-illness Surveillance Network in 2013. RESULTS: We interviewed 839 of 11,098 eligible influenza patients. After excluding those who were unable to complete the HRQoL for the registered influenza episode, 778 patients were included in the analysis. Both outpatients (n = 529) and inpatients (n = 249) most commonly reported problems with pain/discomfort (71.8% of outpatients and 71.9% of inpatients) and anxiety/depression (62.0% of outpatients and 75.1% of inpatients). For individual influenza outpatients, the mean health utility was 0.6142 (SD 0.2006), and the average quality adjusted life days (QALD) loss was 1.62 (SD 1.84) days. The HRQoL of influenza inpatients was worse (mean health utility 0.5851, SD 0.2197; mean QALD loss 3.51 days, SD 4.25) than that of outpatients (p < 0.05). The presence of underlying medical conditions lowered the HRQoL for both outpatients and inpatients (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Influenza illness had a substantial impact on HRQoL. QALD loss due to an acute influenza episode in younger children was comparable to that due to enterovirus A71-associated hand, foot and mouth disease. Our findings are key inputs into disease burden estimates and cost-effectiveness evaluations of influenza-related interventions in China

    The incidence of coronary heart disease increases year by year with the material level of our country. It has a harmful effect on the patient’s life health and quality of life. Movement Instruction is an important aspect of the secondary prevention project of cardiac rehabilitation in patients with coronary heart disease. Although it has a history of decades at inland and abroad, the present situation in China is not optimistic. Some studies have shown that the popularization and participation of cardiac rehabilitation is true and lacking. This paper sums up the relevant knowledge of coronary heart disease, coronary heart disease movement instruction and its impact on community life of patients at home and abroad, and reviews the research results of movement instruction on community rehabilitation of coronary heart disease in recent years, which provides a theoretical reference and prospect for the future research of community exercise rehabilitation of coronary heart disease
